Setup Guide

You'll need the following information to set up your ConnectWise App with Iconnek SYNC:

Preparing the connection

Create an API member

  1. Click + to create a new API member.
  2. Enter an email address (must be a functioning company email).
  3. Set a generic member name such as Iconnek API. There is a known issue in ConnectWise where the API member's name is used instead of the note owner when logging notes on behalf of a user.
  4. Under System, select the Role ID Admin or a custom security role (see custom role details at the end of this guide).
  5. Under System, set Level* to Corporate.
  6. Complete remaining required fields as needed. Non‑required fields can be left blank or with default values.
  7. Click Save.

Create an API Key

  1. Open the API member created for Iconnek and go to the API Keys tab.
  2. Click + to create a new API Key.
  3. Set Description to API-Key, then click Save.
  4. Copy and securely store the Private Key. It is only shown once at creation time.
